Riverdance returns to Wolf Trap on their 2012 Riverdance Farewell Tour for five performances over the weekend of June 15 – June 17. The performances are at 8:00 each evening and Saturday and Sunday there is a 2:00 matinee. This year’s tour uses the Shannon Company Dance Troupe. In addition to the old Irish Step dancing favorites we all expect there is a new dance Shivna added to the mix.

This is the 14th time Riverdance will be at Wolf Trap, and if the story is true and this is really a Farewell Tour, it will be the last time. Wolf Trap has always been a popular stop on any of the Riverdance tours, so they have three days and five performances scheduled. In past years, it has been a sell out with only lawn seats available, so the expectation is that will be true this season as well. The Farewell tour started last fall starting on the West Coast and working its way east as it wound around the Midwest and South.
Wolf Traps Filene Center is the home to many varied and popular shows each summer from symphonies (Beethoven’s 9th) , to country stars,(George Thurgood) classic legendary stars (Crosby Sills and Nash) , musicals (South Pacific) and special performance like Cirque Dreams: Pop Goes The Rock.
