The Michigan vs Ohio State rivalry game is one of the most intense and longest lasting in college football.  The two teams first met in 1897 and since 1918 their meetings alternate between the two campuses.  Except in rare occasions, it is always the final game of the season, and until the Big 10 championship game was put in, The Game often decided the Big 10 Championship and a trip to the Rose Bowl.

Ohio State won at home in 2012, Michigan won at home in the 2011 game. In general, Ohio State dominated the 2000′s and Michigan dominated the 1990′s.  The overall record is Michigan leads, 58–44–6 but that does not reflect how hard it has been for Michigan to beat OSU in Columbus.  Luckily, The Game is in Ann Arbor in 2013 since the bloggers seem to think Buckeyes have the advantage  again in 2013, but don’t tell that to the Michigan die-hard fans.

With the addition of Nebraska the makings of a new rivalry is in the works with  Cornhuskers as they are in the same Legends division (and 2012 Legends Leader).  Other Michigan traditional rivalry games are against Notre Dame on September 7, 2013 in   and at home against Michigan State on November 2, 2013. Things will change once again in 2014 when Maryland and Rutgers join the Big 10. One will go into each division.

Although Penn State is a designated rival for Ohio State in the Big 10 (in addition to Michigan) traditionally Illinois and Indiana both in the Leaders Division with OSU are longtime rivals.  Wisconsin was the Big 10 champ last year since OSU qualified for a BSU berth. Basically the entire Big 10 are rivals as any conference game brings out the competitive spirit in all the teams and all the sports with football and basketball and hockey being pretty intense.

The  second Big Ten Football Championship game will be on December 7th in Indianapolis, so  may-be the two teams will meet again!
